RADIATION MITIGATION STRATEGIES ON MARS
As we venture towards realizing a sustained way of human presence on Mars, the challenge of mitigating radiation exposure becomes a vital part of making this a reality. However, by addressing the multifaceted challenge of reducing the radiation levels on Mars for future human explorers, we believe we can contribute to sustainable exploration and habituation on Mars.

Protection
Our research provided a comprehensive exploration of radiation protection strategies for Mars, encompassing internal, epidermal, and external dimensions. While significant advancements have been made in those domains, numerous opportunities for future exploration and refinement persist.

INTERNAL
Investigate potential medical strategies to address the diverse challenges presented by space radiation exposure on the human body, including tissue degeneration, central nervous system impairment, and cardiovascular damage.

EPIDERMAL
Investigate research efforts in preserving the integrity of the epidermis when exposed to space radiation. read about Selenomelanin, Cladosporium Sphaerospermum radiosynthesis, and boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) potential use for spacesuit technology.

EXTERNAL
Investigate innovative usages of the Martian environment and its resources such as, winding underground lava tubes, ancient impact craters and Chernobyl radiotrophic fungus, to shield and protect future terrestrial life from radiation.
